As an April Fools day joke, the team of Vara’s “Nieuwslicht” and I created a sketch about an imaginary “Hidden Sound System”. I starred in this video, co-wrote parts of it and mixed the episode. Thousands of people believed it to be honest and true. There were hundreds of entries in the VARA guestbook that same day, and approximately 10,000 people downloaded our spoiler software, that supposedly enabled people to try out the system for themselves.

1986 – 1990 or something

Mixes on TROS Radio Soulshow BVD, Dance tracks, Radio 10, etc. The very first thing I ever managed to get aired on national radio was my BVD mix for Ferry Maat’s Soulshow, on Thursday April 24, 1986. It was edited using a Teac V40 cassette recorder. It also contained some combinations of records that were horrifyingly out of tune. That, and a lot of edits.
